Overview

Explore a world without sound and one controversial option for breaking the silence, the cochlear implant. Josh Aronson will screen both his films, Sound & Fury and Sound & Fury: 6 Years Later.

He will speak about the process of making the films, responses by the deaf and deaf communities over the years and on going changing issues surrounding the implantation of children.

He will be available for any questions.

Josh Aronson

Josh Aronson was the Director/Executive Producer of Sound and Fury, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, was distributed theatrically in 2000 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary. Aronson has directed hundreds of commercials and MTV rock videos. Prior to working in film, Aronson was a still photographer working as a photo correspondent for Time/Life and other journals. He is a concert pianist and regularly plays chamber music in New York and at Telluride MusicFest, the chamber music festival he founded with his wife, violinist Maria Bachmann.
